Professional Statement

Professor Fu Siong Ng is a Professor of Cardiology and Consultant Cardiologist based in London who specialises in treating patients with arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, and performing invasive procedures such as cardiac catheter ablation and implantation of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators. He practices privately at multiple locations in West London alongside his consultant cardiologist roles in the NHS, at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Professor Ng performs catheter ablation procedures for a range of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardias, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and ventricular ectopy/tachycardia and implants cardiac devices like pacemakers, defibrillators, loop recorders and biventricular pacemakers (CRT).

He is a world-leading clinical academic, and alongside his clinical work, he conducts research into arrhythmia mechanisms, developing new tools for earlier diagnosis of cardiac disease and improving treatments for patients with arrhythmias.

Professor Ng is the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology and AI Research Group at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. This is a multidisciplinary research group, bringing togethers members from different backgrounds, including clinicians, biologists, engineers, physicists, and AI-scientists, to address key challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias.

As of September 2026, Professor Ng has authored 160 peer-reviewed publications, many of them in top journals, and 4 patents. He has supervised 21 PhD students, with a total of 29 research prizes awarded to his students.
